WHY THIS WATCH - FULLY SERVICED, EXCELLENT OVERALL CONDITION, ORIGINAL FOLDED LINK OYSTER BRACELET
THINGS TO MENTION - SMALL MARKING ON CENTRE OF DIAL, NO ORIGINAL BOX/PAPERS
From a bygone era, Tudor's interpretation of the classic everyday watch. Slim, sleek and timeless is the Rolex oyster case, measuring 34mm wide by 10mm high. These dimensions may be small by todays standards but the design and proportions mean the Oysterdate is as aesthetically pleasing now as it was back in 1973. As such its easy to see why these models draw such attention, especially since they cost far less than the equivalent Rolex Datejust. The Oysterdate models succeeded a specials series of Tudor Oyster Prince watches worn by Commander James Simpson and his team as they carried out research in Northern Greenland between 1952 and 1954. This is true heritage, and qualifies this range of simple, timeless Tudors beyond any doubt.
This example is offered in great condition, having been fully serviced in preparation for the sale by our highly qualified watchmaker and comes with service receipt. The watch reference number is 7xxxxx, dating the watch to 1973. It has the original 7835/361 19mm folded link oyster bracelet fitted with only a minimal amount of stretch. The dial is a stunning satin, slightly sunburst blue and has a very small amount of patina in the centre.
